The new bog garden under construction - repurposing the lower part of the sand bed. Up to 3 feet deep and about 6 feet x 18 feet in size, lined with a butyl pond liner. Excavated soil was used to build up the walls, which are edged and faced with field stone.
Filled with a 50:50 mix of silica sand and peat moss, the finished bog is ready for planting
Planted with a few sarracenias, trilliums, arisaemas, orchids, sun dews and fly traps.
