The E. pinnatifida photo shows first year seedlings with just cotyledons in the pot on the left. The pot on the right has mainly third year seedlings, some of which just flowered. E. byunsanensis seems to germinate much more sporadically, given identical treatment, and the pot contains seedlings from one to three years old. None flowered.
